David Muir is an American anchor and journalist most well-known for his ABC news program World News Tonight with David Muir and for the ABC News magazine 20/20 for which he serves as an anchor and co-anchor. Its stunning video footage as well as the animated movements make it the most popular newscast in the United States. Made In America has also been selected for the Emmy Awards. Before he took over ABC World News Tonight he was the primary substitute anchor for his predecessor Diane Sawyer. In recent years, he has covered many ABC News primetime specials including Breaking Point Heroin in America. He's been to a variety of nations around the world reporting the current news. from Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti, and the Gulf of Mexico. He has been awarded several Emmy Awards, Edward R. Murrow Awards and honors from the Associated Press.
